Claire studied for an MA in Performance Studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she received the Daniel Emlyn Davies award for flute playing and won the Takemitsu Prize for a performance of Air by Takemitsu. She now performs regularly on the baroque flute with a number of ensembles including the Welsh Baroque Orchestra, the Corelli Orchestra, the Musical and Amicable society and Marches Baroque. When not indulging in flute playing, Claire might be found practising the Northumbrian smallpipes.
Claire plays an instrument made by Martin Wenner which is a copy of a flute originally produced by Carlos Palanca (1690-1783) of Turin.
